Ken Oliver June Challenge Day 6

It's day 6 of sharing projects from the team on our June Challenge. This months theme is 'Vacation' and you have a chance to join in too and win a pack of Ken Oliver Color Burst.

To participate create a 'Vacation' themed project using Ken Oliver products along with any other products and mediums you choose.  To submit you can either email your entry to sharon@kenolivercrafts.com, post to Facebook and tag #kenoliverjunechallenge or add your link to the project in the comments at the bottom of this post.  Deadline for Submissions is July 12th.

Creative Team April Challenge - Day 6

Creative Team March Challenge - Dunja Ducker

The Creative Team were challenged this month to create projects under the Floral/Spring Team and we are sharing their fabulously creative uses for Ken Oliver products. The brief for this month was to create a project that was not a card, tag or Journal !, tricky but the team as always knocked it out of the park.

Liquid Metals and Caribbean Brights Tag

Dunja Dücker from the creative team has made this great tag using the new Caribbean Brights and Liquid Metals Color Burst, love how bright and vibrant these new colors are, you are going to love them too.

Dunja says:

For my TAG I colored a tissue. First, I moistened it and then applied the color burst powder. The effect is simply amazing. Then I dried it with the heat gun and put the individual layers carefully spread apart. The middle layer is colored somewhat paler, but it does not matter ;) Then I put some gel medium to the TAG and glued a layer of the tissue. The gel dries transparent.

Also brand new products by Ken Oliver Crafts are the Liquid Metals. I've brushed the edges with Liquid Metals Yellow Gold and the rest of TAG in Verdi Gris (a green with gold reflexes). The glimmer really comes to the fore when everything is dry. In addition I have also used the heat gun. 

The text I have made with my Dymo Labeler and glued them on white card stock. After that I glued the elements on the TAG and decorated with a little heart and a glittered &. On the cords I have attached small beads. 

Altered Linen Bag using Color Burst

Dunja Ducker from the Creative Team has taken a plain ole linen bag and turned it into something magical.

Dunja says:

Hello everyone, I hope you are well :)

If you follow me on Instagram , maybe you already saw my little Video?

I prettied up a linen bag. 

I've placed a stencil with circles on the linen bag, and dabbed them with an Embossing pad, then I removed the stencil carefully. Next I scattered transparent embossing powder on the linen bag (shake off the excess and return it to the jar).

I dyed the bag with Ken Oliver Color Burst using the Orange and Violet. If you watch the video you can see how amazing the colors react. You do not need to use much of the Color Burst Powders as a little goes a long way.  I scattered the powder onto the dry linen bag and then sprayed some water on it. After drying, I've embossed the word 'art' in gold and embellished the bag with rhinestones.

Color Burst Valentine MDF Puzzle

Creative Team member Dunja Ducker has our hearts in a flutter with her latest mixed media project.  She used a MDF puzzle piece, die cut hearts, distressed paper, netting together with Merlot and Alizarin Crimson Color Burst, the result is this stunning wall art.
