Stick It...The New Adhesive with the Funny Name It's Specially Formulated for Die Cuts

If you're like me...you love using die cut paper in your craft projects. And whether you make handmade cards, or scrapbook layouts,

gluing those intricate die cuts to your cardstock can be a messy job.  But, no more...there's a really cool new adhesive that will let you adhere those delicate die cuts perfectly every time.  It's called Stick It.

Stick It is a micro thin, water based acid free, archival adhesive sheet, that is applied to your cardstock, or what ever you want to cut, die cut it.  Then simply remove the "liner" paper and stick your intricate die cut right to your paper.  It's simply amazing!

Last week, I'd asked if anyone would like to try it...I got quite a few responses...and I could only choose a few...here's a list of the winners.

Debbie Seyer
Bunny Vance
Lisa Fulmer
Cathy Grigsby
Jean Bullock
Drucie Heinen
Jennifer Priest
Becca Feekin

If you see your name on the list, send an email to kenolivercrafts@gmail.com with your name and address...and I'll get a sample sent out to you as soon as possible.  It's not even available in the US yet...I'll get samples this week...so you should get your samples shortly thereafter.

If you're in the UK you can order Stick It from Craft Obsessions by following this link...

The Book Nook and Art at the Edge

One of the coolest places to visit in Newburgh is the Book Nook and I am really glad to let you know that the Book Nook is a Participating Merchant Vendor during Art at the Edge

This week, I spent some time with Wynne, the shopkeeper, and she is really happy to hear that we're drawing people from all over the United States to visit Newburgh this fall.

The Book Nook is housed in the cellar of what once was the town's bank.  It's an incredible structure.

And you can literally feel the history at the Book Nook.

If you're a reader and a book lover, you'll love this place and you might want to plan to spend some time...because Wynne has lots of books, new editions, old editions, collectable and historic editions...

The Book Nook is chock full of wonderful books!

There's even a vault of books...the vault is still in place from whenever the building was a bank.

Wynne is offering a special discount to everyone who attends Art at the Edge and ICE at the Edge...

During the weekend of October 24th-26th she is offering

a free used book with the purchase of 3 books...I am telling you...you will love this shop!

Because there are aisles and aisles and lots of little rooms with books from floor to ceiling...EVERYTHING you can imagine!

She even specializes in books on local history

The Book Nook should be on your "must visit" list when you come to Art at the Edge...

It's really charming and Wynne will be there to help with anything you might be looking for...Thank you Wynne for supporting Art at the Edge!  I can't wait for everyone coming to Newburgh to visit you at the Book Nook!

I hope to see you there!

Art at the Edge and Sweet Emotions Soaptions & Potions...

I just spent a few minutes with Amber, the store owner at Sweet Emotions Soaptions & Potions, and wow is she excited about Art at the Edge in October!

When you come to Newburgh, Indiana for Art at the Edge you are going to want to spend some time with her!

She just opened this summer and her shop is amazing!  She hand makes soaps, lotions, fizzy balls and all sorts of cool stuff...all right here in Newburgh at her shop!

And during Art at the Edge, she'll have demo tables set up so you can experiment and learn how to create your own custom blended soaps and lotions...it's going to be fun.

And she'll offer special discounts especially for anyone who is at the event.

I love the fact that this really cool shop is 2 doors down the street from me...I can pop in at a moment's notice for a little fix!

Her products are all natural...

pure...

and made by hand.

And she has some cool vintage pieces and antiques at the shop too...

So make sure this is on your "to do" list when you're in town for Art at the Edge...

It will be a real treat!

Mixed Media Techniques for Art Journaling with Julie Nutting Stamps from Prima Marketing Inc.

This summer I've been teaching a mixed media class where we focus on technique...we've misted, sprayed, painted, used stencils, used modeling paste, inks, acrylic paints...we've spattered and splashed and layered...

And until now we've really focused on creating layered backgrounds...This week we're going to incorporate Julie Nutting Cling Stamps from Prima Marketing Inc.

The stamps are great and perfect for mixed media techniques...I've stamped a few images to get started.

On this journal page, I stamped directly on the page and colored over the background...it gives a cool look and you can still somewhat see the background layer through the colored stamp.

For next week's class, we're using quotes that are about self affirmation and joy, after all art should be a joyful activity!

As you can see our background pages all turned out really cool with lots of layers.

I am looking forward to sharing the techniques with our group...and I am happy to see some of the pages coming together so nicely.

We meet once a month, on the second Tuesday, at Mary's Scrapden in Evansville, Indiana...we usually have a full house and have a lot of fun...I always look forward to our Mixed Media for Art Journaling class...it's always awesome!

Life's Beauty is Hidden in the Everyday!

It's something I remind myself of all the time...I just finished a cool project to help me remember it.  This altered metal frame project stands over 13" tall and is really fun to make, in fact, I'll be teaching this class this fall at...

Scrapbook Generation in Springfield Missouri and at Art at the Edge in Newburgh Indiana.  It's loaded with beautiful floral embellishments from Stationer's Desk by Prima Marketing Inc.

In the class we'll use Prima's new Color Blooms sprays to create a unique patina finish on the metal frame.

I love the simple look of this little project...and I can't wait to teach this in class!

I hope to see you in one of those classes this fall!
