Dream Cards using Color Burst

Giovana Smith is back today with a quick tutorial for four beautiful cards, she takes you through the steps of creating your own masterpiece using a masking technique and Color Burst.

Giovana says:

Hello friends, Giovana here today, bringing you another set of cards, I love creating them as a set, more fun with my Color Burst!!

So, let's get started!

First, cut panels from Watercolor paper, size 3.5" x 4.75", then mist your panels and tap a little bit of Color Burst: Sepia, Indigo, Merlot and Yellow Ochre.

Then stamp the butterfly on a piece of paper to create a mask, the pretty butterfly is from  Studio Collection Set 1

Stamp the butterflies using the watercolor panels, I used Lamp Black, Turquoise and Burnt Orange Click it Ink Pads. Create the word "Dream" using the PegZ Uppercase Set, stamp it on Versamark Ink, add White embossing powder on a piece of vellum, then wrap them around the watercolor panel. Cut panels from Watercolor Memories Paper to add behind and add stitches.

Finally add sequins and rhinestone and your cards are done!!

  1. Why are we making a mask? Where is it used?

  2. What is the point of making a butterfly mask? It looks like you just stamped the butterflies onto the watercolor panels. What am I missing?

    They're beautiful!

    1. I didn't want to stamp on top of the butterflies, that's why I created a mask to overlap them but not touch each other.
      Hope this helps.
