Purple Coneflower

Creative Team member Buffy St John is back today with a beautiful Purple Cornflower, created using Color Burst and a dash of table salt!.  Buffy also shares a video of this stunning work of art.

Hi Everybody!

Buffy here with you today and I wanted to share a cheerful painting titled Purple Coneflower. Living in central North Carolina I am blessed to have a beautiful perennial garden for about 9 months of the year. One of my favorite flowers is the Purple Coneflower. I started with a reference photo and from there I drew this simple yet beautiful flower.

Then it came time to select the colors I wanted to use...

Color Burst, Yes!!!!! I used

Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Terre Verte, Violet, Orange, Burnt Orange, Sepia,

I love the transparent, vibrant colors and the way they behave with each other on the paper!

   The richness of the Sepia makes me so happy!
