Wall Decor using Color Burst and Liquid Metals

Yvonne Blair has created this bright and fun wall decor using Color Burst and the new Liquid Metals.  This would brighten up anyone's room.

Hi Everyone, Yvonne here with a piece of home decor.

I started out by painting on Fuchsia and Tangerine Color Burst from my palette. I was kind of going for a mixed ombre look. Once it was dry, I then put a tad of the Metallic Pink on an acrylic block, picked it up with a small paint brush and splattered it on to the background. Then take a water spritzer and lightly spray a little bit of water to get the water drop marks.

Next I stamped the images with Black Click it Ink, dried and then painted the sentiment piece with Metallic Pink and the Butterflies with the Tangerine and a tad of the Liquid Metals Pink. I also painted the Metallic Pink onto some white flowers...not covering completely as I wanted some of the white to pop through for visual interest.

Now I have a cute home decor piece to hang or I could even tie it on a gift bag to be part of the gift!

Hope you enjoyed! If you don't have those yummy Liquid Metals...what are you waiting for! They are a must have, wink. Until next time!

Creating Background Papers with Color Burst.

It is so easy to make your own background papers using Color Burst !.  Creative Team member Yvonne Blair has done just that and more, she even made her own embellishments and sentiments, here's how......

Hi everyone, Yvonne here to share a layout I made using Color Burst to create my own decorative paper.  I haven't done a scrapbook layout in...well, forever!
I used 2 sheets of 12 x 12 watercolor paper to create the base and the components for my handmade embellishments. I also used scrap pieces of watercolor paper to create my photo mat as well as what I stamped my sentiment on.  I just mopped up the extra Color Burst from my craft sheet with those pieces...this way I had so solid color to work with.
First, Lay both pieces of watercolor paper on your work surface.  (not to close together)  I chose one of my Crafter's Workshop stencils and set it on top of one piece of watercolor paper.  I then sprinkled a bit of Color Burst all around the stencil.  The colors I used are Pthalo Green, Lemon Yellow and Ultramarine Blue.
Once I had the Color Burst sprinkled around I Spritzed the paper with water.   You don't want to hold the spritzer to close when you spritz...let the spray fall on the surface.
Once I had the color I wanted I picked the stencil up and used it to 'stamp' the other piece of watercolor paper.

Once they dried I used the 'stamped' background paper as the base of my layout.  Then took the other stenciled watercolor paper and fussy cut some of the flowers.
When I had enough flowers cut out, I stamped my sentiment on the solid Color Burst paper and cut it into separate pieces, stamped some butterflies and cut those out as well.

Once all the components where cut out I was ready to put the layout together.  Using the positive and the negative of the stenciled paper helped me create a really vibrant layout!

I think I might even put this one in a 12 x 12 frame so I can enjoy it for a while!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired to go do some creative play!

Allow Your Soul To Dance

Today Creative Team member Yvonne Blair has created this bright and inspiring watercolor framed quote using just three Color Burst Colors and a stamped sentiment.

Yvonne says:

Hi everyone!!!
It's so close to Christmas now....I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday time! I like many of you have been running around like a crazy person trying to get everything done and ready! But I had to take some time to craft! It's the best thing for the soul sometime!

I started out with three of my favorite Color Burst colors! Lemon Yellow, Orange and Alizarin Crimson (I think they are all my favorite, wink).

I put a bit of the powder on my Ken Oliver "Best Ever Craft Mat" , spritzed with some water and used a water brush to paint a watercolorish scenery on my prestamped background.

Once it is dry I added just a touch of Diamond Stickles to make it look like the setting sun was dancing a bit.

Once all that was dry I wanted to make it seem more of a piece of art so I matted it with black card stock before adding it to my card foundation.

I absolutely LOVE the versatility of Color Burst...there are so many WAYS to use it...and you get a different and fresh look with each way!
I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for stopping by...till next time!

Color Burst Inspirational Canvas Gift

Nothing says you care more than giving someone a handmade gift, today Creative Team member Yvonne Blair has shared with us a wonderful Color Burst inspirational canvas.

Yvonne says:

Hi Everyone, Yvonne here to share an idea for a Christmas Gift.
I took a piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it lightly with water...I then added my choice of Color Burst...then more spritzing until I had the watercolor look I was going for.
Once it was dry I stamped one of my sentiment stamps in the center.  Put it in a frame and there you have it...a one of a kind gift.  I customized the color to the person receiving the gift.  It's a great way to create a unique gift someone hopefully will totally enjoy and be able to use year round!

Thank you Yvonne for sharing this project with us.  To see more of Yvonne's inspirational projects you can visit her blog here.

Color Burst Card Inspiration

Today we are sharing an inspirational creation from Creative Team Member Yvonne Blair,

Yvonne says:
"So excited to be here and share with you my first 'official' project for Ken Oliver! I am totally honored and giddy to be a part of Ken's Media Team.
Today I am sharing a card that I made for someone who needs a little inspiration and pick me up in here life.  We all have friends that go through tough times and we want to help, or try and give them something to smile about right! That is the inspiration behind this card.  Butterflies are kind of my trademark...most of my projects have butterflies included..I find them to be a great representation of change, growth, metamorphosis and beauty.
I spritzed my watercolor paper with water and then added some spritzes of Color Burst.  I LOVE the effect you get, it is NEVER the same thing twice! I added more water and more Color Burst until I had the look I was going for...kind of a Nebula type look.
I did a second watercolor paper using the Ultramarine Blue with the Lemon Yellow mixed in...this is where I stamped my butterflies to 'fussy' cut out.
Then it was just a matter of putting the card together!
I hope you enjoyed and found some inspiration!
Until next time! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Yvonne"
