Merry & Bright Poinsettia Canvas

Continuing on with the Christmas theme Creative Team member Tracy Pounds has made this vibrant Canvas using Color Burst.

Tracy Says:

Hello everyone….Tracy Pounds here to share my unique Color Burst Canvas with you today!

It features a watercolor canvas (Cosmo Cricket) and Color Burst Watercolor Pigment Powders!  I love to use my products in multiple ways. As I was looking at my Sunflower Stencil (The Crafters Workshop), it occurred to me how much it looked like a Poinsettia. I knew I just had to try it out and see what it would look like! I’m thrilled with the result!
I used the stencil and my Color Burst powders to the white canvas. Dried it well and then applied Delicatta Gold Ink to the canvas with a Blending Foam Applicator (Ranger). I love how the micro powder particles (a residual on the remaining part of the canvas)blended with the gold metallic ink….truly made my canvas GLOW! Then I did some fun doodled lines around my Poinsettia and canvas using my Gold Uniball Signo Pen and my black Pitt Pens (Faber Castel).
I then did a pencil transfer of the Merry & Bright image and used my Black Pit Pens (Faber Castel) to outline and colored in with my Red Wink of Stella Brush marker. I loved the shimmer and sparkle so much…that I decided to add some “Winks” over parts of my PoinsettaCamera doesn’t pick it up very well but trust me…it’s so pretty! It actually floated the color from the watercolor powders…….LOVE the shimmery watercolor effect!
I hope my canvas is a source of Inspirations for you today and I hope Santa drops a few Colorburst Bottles in your stocking this year! Wishing you a Merry & Bright Holiday Season!
Keep Creating!

Miss Tracy :)

Color Burst Wood Pallet Sign

Creative Team member Tracy Pounds has shared an amazing 'off the page' Color Burst project with us today.  It's genius!!

WOOD PALLET SIGN

Tracy says:

" I used this amazing Sunflower stencil from The Crafters Workshop. I would love to share the process with you.

Here are the items that you will need: Color Burst (colors shown below), Wood Pallet Sign (available at the LBH), stencil of your choice, water bottle with mister, clear spray sealer

Miss Tracy's How To:
First lay the stencil on the pallet sign wherever you desire.

https://static.wixstatic.com/media/e26d45_c7e7517353204bef81f969a948a763eb.jpeg/v1/fit/w_392,h_439,q_75,usm_0.50_1.20_0.00/e26d45_c7e7517353204bef81f969a948a763eb.jpeg

Next begin sprinkling on the powders - carefully sprinkle desired colors in desired areas. It's okay to use more than one color....in one area. It will look something like this as you add the pigment powders....

Next, simply spray over the powders with your water mister....If you happen to be vertically challenged like me ( I'm a shorty), stand up for this step. Move your hand in a forward motion while spraying and be sure to "Spray like you mean it" ...no dribbling water....you want a strong, fine mist. Once you have sprayed, immediately lift off the stencil....and LOOK at the RESULT!!! It's like MAGIC!!!

I used my heat tool to dry and then to protect my beautiful Sunflower (after the wood was completely dry), I sprayed it with a clear sealer to protect my Color Burst Creation. Sealing it will also protect it from the elements if I decide to display outside.

I'm in love with the way it looks on the wood....I think it's incredible and I can't wait to create more Color Burst Creations on reclaimed wood surfaces! ...among other surfaces...my brain is churning around lots of idea...LoL!"
