Watercolor Resist with Color Burst

We love seeing Color Burst used with other products and today Zoey has a great project using the Cosmo Cricket Watercolor Collection.  Zoey shares a fantastic tutorial on her blog,

Zoey says:

Hello everyone!
I am here again to show you how amazing are color burst by Ken Oliver! Everytime I used them I always have fun and just can't stop to see how they all mix and combine together!

For the project today I will used only two Color Burst by Ken Oliver : Yellow Lemon and Ultramarine Blue.

Color Burst by Ken Oliver works amazingly on every paper but today I wanted to play along with Cosmo Cricket Watercolor Collection -- and they work perfectly!

I mixed the Ultramarine Blue and Yellow Lemon in different layers to get this wonderful shade of green-ish .

I used the colored watercolor paper to make a cover for an handmade book I stitched for a friend of mine...and of course I had to make the coordinate little bag!
Want to see a quick tutorial on how I made it?

Stay Happy Stay Creative...till next time!

Color Burst with Gold Resist Canvas

Kimberly Jones shares with us a great resist technique today.  The effect is stunning and so easy to do.

Kimberly says:

I spotted these gold resist canvases at Joann's last week and I immediately knew they they would be a perfect match for Color Burst!

I spritzed the larger canvas with water, sprinkled on Merlot and Violet Color Burst Powders, and then spritzed again with water. Look at those gorgeous pools of color! To reveal the gold blossoms, simply wipe away the excess watercolor with a soft cloth or paper towel.

For the two smaller canvases I created a wash with a generous sprinkle of Ultramarine Blue Color Burst and some water. I like to mix the wash in a porcelain dish because I can set it aside and reactivate the watercolor later even if it has dried.

Color Burst 'Power' Card

Jeanne Streiff from the Creative Team has created a motivational card on her blog today using Color Burst and a blocking technique technique,

Jeanne says:

I used Color Burst in a sort of color block fashion by dabbing watercolor paper onto Color Burst that had been misted on the Best Ever Craft Mat. I started on the right (over the embossed phrase) and did that section in Ultramarine Blue. I then added Alizarin Crimson to the top left and Pthalo Green to the bottom left. I like how the colors bled a bit but the finished piece still looked "blocky".

Other supplies used are:

White craft ink, olive dye ink
Embossing powder
Heat Tool
Watercolor paper
